How licensing works

A BIM Mobius license is bound to a device fingerprint and an account. This page explains the model and what to expect when staff change machines.

Activation

On first launch the addin computes a stable device fingerprint from hardware attributes (motherboard, primary disk, MAC). The fingerprint is sent to the activation server alongside your account credentials. The server returns a signed license blob the addin caches locally.

Offline behaviour

• After activation, the addin works offline for up to 14 days.
• When online, the addin refreshes its license blob silently every 24 hours.
• If a license is revoked, the next online refresh disables the addin and shows a clear message.

Team licenses

Team licenses are managed from your account → Organizations page. Seats can be moved between users; a moved seat invalidates the previous device fingerprint on next online check.
